Halloween

Happy Halloween! For our first Halloween Xavier was a Lion. We went to Grandma and Grandpa Childer's house for dinner and a little trick-or-treating. We met our cousin Grant, who was a tiger, grants parents, an Aunt Ashley who was our Zoo Keeper. We had a little camera mishap, so we had to make due with Mommy's cell-phone camera, but at least we got some cute pictures, enjoy!

Pumpkin Patch

Since the Pumpkin Patch is so crazy on the weekends Daddy's left work early so we could go this afternoon. Xavier seemed to really enjoy all of the different things to see and all of the other people/kids.

We fed the goats and sheep, Xavier petted them, and they nibbled his fingers.

We watched the pig races and Xavier stood right next to the fence and watched the pigs run right by, even though they smelled.

We went to the Pumpkin eating Dragon show, but Xavier was bored so we walked thru the Storybook Barn instead.

We picked out pumpkins with our little pumpkin.

And ended our adventure with making/eating our first S'More

First Haircut!

Since Xavier was born with so much hair, he's already need a couple of trims to keep it out of his eyes. But last weekend Daddy said it looked like he was growing a mullet, so I decided to take him in to get his first real haircut.

We went to Family Fun Cutz, because they specialize in kids hair cuts. Xavier got to sit in a "car" and watch an Elmo DVD! He did really good, he didn't fuss or cry at all, he was a little squirmy because he kept trying to find what was making the snipping sound.

6 (ish) month pictures

Just a quick post this time. We finally got Xavier's 6 month pictures done today (they've been delayed due to a high number of facial bumps and bruises). I ordered a few prints of the first two poses. If you like prints of any other poses let me know ASAP, since The Picture People only keep them on file for 48 hrs.

Solid Food!

We tried our first solid food today! Since Xavier has been getting rice cereal in his bottles for his reflux we decided to try sweet potatoes first. He loved them! He wasn't as big a fan of peas.

4 Month Check-up

Xavier's 4 month check-up went great! He is in the 57% for height at 25.5 in and he's in the 48% for weight at 14 lb 15.5 oz. For motor skills, he's rolling front to back, back to front, and will sit with little to no support, or tri-pod sit (holds himself up with his arms between his legs). The Dr said that because of his advanced motor skills that we can start solid food! More to come on that soon.

May St Louis Trip

On our trip to St Louis for Auntie Fritz's graduation Xavier got to meet his Uncle Austin and Aunt Jen for the first time. It was funny it watch Austin interact with Xavier. Like most men that haven't had much baby experience Austin was very worried about breaking him, and treated him like he was made of hand-blown glass.

We also celebrated my first Mothers day while we were there. Dru wrote a wonderful blog for me, and we went out for brunch.

Finally to get home Xavier took his first plane ride. TSA at the St. Louis Airport were jerks. They made me take Xavier out of the stroller, then out of the carrier. Then, while I was holding Xavier, the diaper bag, and my purse; TSA made me fold up the stroller and lift it onto the X-ray belt, and put the carrier on the X-ray belt. Then to top it all off, when I carried Xavier thru the body scanner, they asked me to lift up Xavier's bib so they could see under it! Thankfully, the passenger in front of me helped get everything off the X-ray, but seriously!

On a positive note, the flight wasn't full so Xavier got his own seat, and did very well on the flight.

Auntie Fritz's Graduation

Auntie Who? Since Xavier has two Aunt Ashley's, Mommy's sister Ashley has decided to have Xavier use her nick-name from when she was little, Fritz.

After many years of very hard work Auntie Fritz graduated with a Bachelors in Education from the University of Southern Illinois. She hopes to find work as a 2nd or 3rd grade teacher in the St Louis metro area.
